More About the Expert

Chant Malan (she/they) is a counselling psychologist, researcher, and executive member of the Southern African Sexual Health Association (SASHA). They have a special interest in sexual health and gender, sexual, and relationship diversity. Her work is focused on sex positive interventions that embrace and encourage a diverse spectrum of experiences. Their research interests include the use of critical methodologies to explore embodiment, sexualities, and identities. Chant has a Masters in Counselling Psychology, a Masters in Political and International Studies and is currently completing a Diploma in Clinical Sexology through the Contemporary Institute of Clinical Sexology in the UK. She has presented her most recent research on sexuality education in southern Africa at various international conferences. Chant lives in Johannesburg with their three fur-children, an ever-growing pile of books and a herb garden in constant need of revival.
