Ntlotleng Mabena

Dr. Ntlotleng Mabena is a public health clinician, an academic and a women’s health and rights advocate, born and raised in Mamelodi, a township in South Africa. Her passion lies in working with marginalized women, ensuring they have access to quality primary health care services. Dr. Mabena holds several qualifications, including a Medical Degree (MBcHB) and a Masters in Public Health (MPH) from the University of Pretoria (UP), a Diploma in HIV Management from the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa (CMSA), a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from UP, a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Forensic Medicine from the University of the Free State (UFS), and a Graduate Certificate in LGBT Health Policy and Practice from George Washington University, USA. Currently, she works with NACOSA as the GBV Technical Specialist, focusing on capacitating the health system and health care workers to manage survivors of GBV with dignity and compassion. Dr. Mabena identifies as an intersectionalist, aiming to transform individuals, spark their purpose, and help them follow their dreams. She also sees herself as a holistic transformational worker, using her intuition and medical background to aid in self-healing, and incorporates alternative interventions where necessary.
